Happy New School Year!! I hope that you and your family had a wonderful summer break and everyone has transitioned nicely back to school and work. I hope that the 2008-2009 school year proves to be a blissful year for our nation, our families and staff, and our children. There are many points of interest this month to take note of. Please review the following information carefully and don’t hesitate to call me if you have questions and/or suggestions!

Teachers and administrators are noticing that student absences and tardies are starting to accumulate. It is important that students attend every day of school to get the most out of their education. To help you and your child understand the consequences of missing class, the attendance policy is as follows. Please note that there are consequences for repeated tardies and absences. As well as school consequences, there are personal consequences for students as they will likely fall behind in their work as they are missing important educational time! PLEASE…if your family is struggling to have students attend school on time or regularly, we need your assistance in making this change immediately. If not, it is likely you will be asked to have a mandatory meeting with me regarding this situation and it could even progress to having a petition submitted to the courts if we are not able to handle this situation at the school level.
